“GOING, GOING, GONE” [2024]

a subtle encouragement to keep looking up,

toward my first memory, the lacework of sticks

spread upon a great satin quilt of white and blue.

a brimful journal of wind and light, made to keep

cold the shaded, swaying rumors of brief warmth,

its secret history hidden away in wooden statue.

an echo of growth, the day’s twitch and spasm,

the constant worrying, and loss, of things,

that patient practice which prompts things to renew.

“Going, Going, Gone”, 12”x 5.75”, oil on wood panel, 2024.
